Nothing for me this month...

But as a Conrail Fan. I'm........ frustrated in 2 of the multi pack releases..
https://micro-trains.com/

The Camp Cars second release in Canadian Pacific.... (when we all begged Joe for CR)

And an unweathered gondola 4 pack in NYC/Conrail... Too new for me.. but would be much better suited as a weathered release.

Although can't argue with the FTTX 2 packs and Auto Frames.. thats pretty sweet..

And the Micro Mouse Christmas car is cute, although I don't understand the Chessie Logo with the cross through it..

The two double door boxcars with no roofwalks are foobs unfortunately. The CNW car was prototypical. NP, SAL and USN would be prototypical with roofwalks, so it’s possible a successor road still had them after roofwalks were removed.

The BN ex-GN car is impressive.

The GN double-door car is a foob, as the GN (as far as I know) had no PS-1 40 ft double door boxcars.  But if you overlook that, the lack of a roofwalk is correct.  Almost all of their boxcars lost the roofwalk when they were repainted blue.

However, on such cars, the GN left the brakewheel in its original position, so, on the B end, both the side and end ladders should be full height.  It looks like this one has a full height side ladder and a short end ladder, a combination I have never seen.

Four Ways West's "Great Northern Equipment Color Pictorial, Book 1" has a picture of GN 4007, fresh Big Sky Blue, on page 59.

Yeah, they combined the tool slides from the 23000 and 24000 series to get this 68500 series model, as opposed to tooling new sides to conform with the 24000 series tooling. Other than the high side ladders, the CNW car from last month is legit.

Possibly because most of today's modelers don't remember the steam/transition era, and many weren't alive yet!  Model railroaders tend to model the eras they remember, although, of course, there are exceptions.

Well, okay, that may well be true.
But then who's buying all the recent new steam releases by BLI, Bachmann, Athearn? And what do they haul behind them?
Still, I get that the goal it to make cars that the maker believes will sell. Too bad so much of it is foobs and foobs on steroids. And total fantasy stuff. That says a lot about the buying public...
Oh well...

Looks like the bolster hole is off-center to match the trucks.

I'm with Cajonpassfan...no transition era cars is a travesty. Maybe it will finally motivate me enough to complete the cars I've been researching and submit the info to MT.

...and while I no longer live in So Cal, I'm still a Cajon pass fan myself.

So I have 2 unrelated questions....

First - the flats and auto frames. I can imagine 5 car frames fitting on a single flat but will 5 truck frames? Seems odd they would have 5 truck frames in a pack if they didn't fit on a single flat car. I looked at some prototype pictures but the angles make it hard to see which type of frame in on the flat. Does anyone know any more info on how these would layout on the models?

Second - does anyone have any more info on the US Interior cars? I tried looking them up but came up blank. Kept seeing info on US car 1 (Ferdinand Magellan) but not these cars.

Thanks in advance for the info.

Truck frames probably 4 stacks.
