Back to our regularly scheduled Blue Bird.

that brings to mind a question - when you painted the obervation, how did you mask to get the thin silver separation between the blue window band and the blue letterboard?

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

Just a strip of Tamiya masking tape. I did spray some gray primer first, just to get a good edge before black and blue. Seems to help keep it clean.

RailSmith ex-Walthers corrugated baggage car.  It's pretty close to #375, although I screwed up and painted it like a standard Wabash car and it had two rows of fluting, in silver, showing wider than what I painted as a separator between the letter board and window band blue.

Always room for improvement.

Mike or Tom Or George, are the Gary Roe decals for these cars still available, and if so , how does one order them?
Thanks

Back at it before the Mad City train show. Working on the two Kato dome coaches. I was able to remove the lettering and painted name board with 99% alcohol. Also painted silver around vestibule doors. Clear coat with mist of Tamiya smoke. Relettered. Truck cutouts in skirts.

Still need new numberboards above the trucks. But we’re getting better.

Nice!  What's your technique for adding number boards without screwing up the finish?
