Need An N-Scale Tank Car Unloading Platform

Anyone have a suggestion for a decent N-Scale tank car unloading platform?  I've looked at a few vendors, including Shapeways, and they all seem a bit too toy-like.  Hard to make a good call without actually seeing them.  Sure wish Traincat was still around.

I agree, most all 3D printed look too large for "N".

What usually does you in is the appearance of the stairs and the railings.

Gold Medal Models has both etched brass industrial stairs and railings that will make some of the printed or commercial stuff look a lot better.

I agree, Bob's stuff was the best, but I still don't see much change.    The value of his work is the artwork and I'm surprised he doesn't sell it or license it to another manufacturer, because the etching on that scale is not a home business, trust me.

I agree with you .. this is one I've been working on .. the railings are .5mm square -- I haven't had the best of luck with railings below that -- they either don't print right, or are too flimsy for the layout ..   I'm still experimenting and have some syriatech tenacious on order to see if I can get it a little finer ..  according to drawings I've seen - the hand rails are 1.5' diameter (.23mm in N scale) , and stanchions about 2" .. (.3mm in N scale)
