Finally got my four units. Well detailed and they run smooth and quiet. They appear to be in short supply.
Only ick the instruction manuals have been mixed up at the factory. No sweat get a copy online.

I picked mine up Saturday. One of the Rebuilds. It is beautiful and runs well!

Good, means I can confidently pull the trigger when they run the Transit versions.

I've received 2 so far, one sound and one straight DC. One more is still in shipping to me, but I'm very happy with them (and would look forward to Rapido making more N scale F40 variants...)

Ya, I was worried about them after the FP9's. I had 2 noisy ones, but it seems Rapido is back in fine form. Glad I preordered. The way the LRC cars sold out, I figured these would go too.

2 things. I'm not sure how to turn on the 3rd emergency light.

And the one unfortunate thing with my model is the ditch lights bleeding through the lower nose.

I do not have that model but check your instructions . It appears the factory flipped the instructions for the two model types( original and rebuilt). Get a copy online from Rapido.
For your rebuilt model F13 Xenon headlight, F0 Headlight and F6 ditchlights.

Hope this helps.

Dave B :)

Thanks.

As for the light bleeding through. I'll have to try my luck taking the shell off and seeing what I can do to tilt the lower part of the nose up

I guess you can't just snap the front of the shell down a bit more? I saw on facebook where someone had the shell off to install a decoder. Seems there are 4 tabs that hold the shell on, (like the FP9's). Maybe the front tabs are not engaged? I will try to share the link, but you know how Facebook can be, if you aren't a member of a group or page you may not be able to see the content.

I tried. I might have to glue it down somehow

Maybe there is something in the chassis preventing the shell from fully setting down?  Might be worth investigating.  Gluing it down seems a bit drastic (for any future maintenance).

I'm pretty sure the shell is fully set down. It looks like the piece that the plow is on is angled downwards

Yes, it does look like it is curving down.

What also jumps out at me (unrelated to the problem) is how the grilles on the roof behind the cab seem to be really overdone (too deep).  The silver window frames also seem overdone. The color mismatch of the grab irons on the nose is also quite noticeable (unless that is the color they supposed to have).  The detail looks cruder than on the Kato FP40PHs.
