Scaletrains autorack coupler trouble

Converted several of these to Microtrains 1015s. Have a lot of trouble with proper coupler sway, and related inability to stay coupled, using the original scaletrains coupler box & lid. Forgive me if this has already been covered. When I losen the screw on the coupler box to allow better sway, the lid comes off. Even then, I'm not getting proper sway. Help me.

I don't have anything from Scaletrains, so this is just a guess.

Atlas puts the little guide slots for 1015 couplers in their Accumate boxes.  Athearn doesn't put them in McHenry boxes.  Do the Scaletrains boxes have them?  If not, the 1015s won't center right, and, probably, will bind.

They do have the slots. At least I think I remember them having slots. I'll take another look when I get home.
