The Z CHCPTL is on the ramp and about ready to double up for departure at Cicero, IL 7/13/22. Photo is taken from my engine at the roundhouse while we were waiting for the derail to come down. The pause in action gave me a chance to get this angle with the city in the background.

It looks like a steamer but sounds like a bus.  It’s the C.P. Huntington, 4-2-4 No. 123, at Dutch Wonderland, near Lancaster, Pennsylvania:

There will always be a soft spot in my heart for those things.

New Local Power Showed up last week. Need to carve some time out to get some pics of the other side of the line in operation with its own flavor of new hotness.

That's hot. Was just watching The Bear last night and it made me realize how much I like Chicago.

That always cracks me up with those things.

The not so glorious side of railroading. Yesterday, I was working as the conductor on this train. We were so close to finishing our day. We were one engine with 19 cars, one empty non-hazmat tank and 18 loads of corn.  My engineer and I were talking while traversing the rails. Suddenly, there was a noticeable tug back on the train, and then a second tug. My engineer, as calm as can be, said I think we're on the ground, and then the train dumped, cementing his proclamation. I walked back to find this mess at the eleventh car. Four overturned, one needing to be rerailed. Looks like the birds and deer will be eating good until the contractor comes. The sad thing is this is 10 mph track too. Oye.

Brian,

I’m so sorry to hear about your misfortune, but I’m happy that neither you nor the crew were injured.

Thanks, Dave. Definitely a kick in the pants. Horrible feeling knowing those cars have more than likely made their last revenue run, nevermind the costs to repair the railroad.

Judging from the paintout marks, you can take CSX off the car, but you can't take CSX out of the car :D Got the C (Crash) and the S (Spill), thankfully no X (eXplode)
