Turnout update:  Through the help of some fellow Railwire members and some other friends of mine, I have been able to secure enough turnouts for the entire layout (80+ turnouts - both #7's and #10's).

A big "thank you" to those people.  :)

My first bundle of flex track and #10 turnouts will arrive today, so I can get started on figuring out specific track locations.

I took a break from building this morning and worked on some of the equipment that will be running on the layout.

I finally got around to working on this Broadway Limited 4-6-2 Pacific that I got last year.  It was an undecorated model to start.  I applied decals and moved the bell from the front of the smokebox to the top of the boiler to better match Milw class F3.  The trailing truck on the locomotive should have inside bearings, but I haven't figured out how to chop it apart yet and still make it functionable.

The decals on the front of the smokebox are individual numerals.....what a pain in the tush those were to apply........

It is sound equipped and will look and sound good on the layout.

I will weather it this afternoon.

Love the jaunty tender on the prototype engine.

There's something about those light USRA designs that just looks right.

Got the Pacific weathered this afternoon.

This will be perfect for some of the secondary passenger trains that ran on the Chicago to Twin Cities main line in the late 40's and early 50's.

I put together this D-1 class depot kit (Depots by John) for Camp McCoy this afternoon.

A great little kit of a Milwaukee prototype.
