Thread drift me this, Batman:
I am certain I saw red, 63 foot, opera window BC Rail centerbeams running through PA in the mid/late 1980s.  Do I just mis-remember?  (because all the models of BCOL centerbeams I'm aware of are green)

Can't say I've heard of such a thing, other than this, but these were acquired secondhand in 2000 and probably not what you're trying to remember.

Am I missing some indication of which top truss and deck configurations the models in this run have?

Just recently learned these are on the burner, so forgive the thread grave robbing...

I'm also curious about the configurations and the dates of the schemes offered this run.   I'm modeling 1989 and it states production started in 1987, but I don't know what would work.  Notes:
-No conspic stripes...NOKL out.
-No TTX...Trailer Train only in 1989, and this TTX series was built in 4=5/94.
-No BNSF.
-Found evidence that the BCOL cars in that range were built in 2=3/93; Also found a top-down photo with the standard closed pattern top truss.
-CN built 5=6/87, so there's one
-CP haven't found built date, but photo taken in 1989 by Kent Charles. https://www.railcarphotos.com/PhotoDetails.php?PhotoID=45929
-For my purposes, that only leaves the MSDR's, which I am fairly certain are a much later timeframe.

So, looks like one each of the Canadians for me, this go round.  (and yes, I realize I sort of answered my own question....was going to post and chase afterward but then decided to do some quick research midstream.)

Also...the order deadline is February 15th.   Just got my two ordered.

Can I add - would anyone know where to get prototype drawings (with dimensions) for these cars?

(Only centerbeam drawings I've found so far are the ones with very basic dimensions on the BNSF site.)

Modelling CN in mid 90s so my bank account may be safe! :)
None acquired by CP or CN before 2000 ????
Trying to match Rapidos numbers for CN & CP for my time frame.

My wallet will definitely be stretched thin by this release, as this random web-cam grab of a UP manifest heading to Bakersfield will attest:

Centre beams galore!  Not sure how many of them are the exact NSC protoypes that Rapido is producing, but they'll definitely be better than the corresponding RC cars (I hope!).

If only there were a (good) way to 3D print these kinds of cars.

They would be pretty light tho. One of the reasons the RCs newer quite looked right was that they made the frame thicker to accommodate the cast weight.  I wonder what Rapido's solution will be -- we will see before much longer 8)

BC Rail centrebeam cars were dark green.  The first cars were Thrall opera window cars but 71'-0" not 73'-0" which makes the Red Caboose model incorrect for them.  Later cars including the NSC variants were 73'-0".

BC Rail also converted some of its bulkhead flatcar fleet into centrebeam cars, including the straight bulkhead cars (52'-8" inside length) and the 71' Marine Industries cars (66'-0" inside length).  All of these cars were dark green.

CP 318000-318283 blt. 1988 NSC **  http://canadianfreightcargallery.ca/cgi-bin/image.pl?i=cp318245&o=cprail

CN 624600-625199 blt. 2000 NSC
CN 625200-625749 blt. 2000 NSC

Rapido doesn't list specific car #s that they're running, but a peak at the artwork shows numbers from the series marked with **.

Also

BCOL 730200-730399 blt. 1992 NSC
BCOL 730400-730499 blt. 1993 NSC **

The NOKL (many leased by CN) and BNSF appear to be slightly later than what you're looking at. NOKL artwork #s seem to fall into
NOKL 734310-734384 blt. 2004 NSC

I was looking at their individual product listing pages, e.g. https://rapidotrains.com/n-nsc-centerbeam-flatcar-mississippi-delta-msdr-single-car.html

They don't have the numbers there.

Yeah, sorry that wasn't meant as a "prove-you-wrong", but rather a notice that they have a PDF now and that the info is available.

I got an email from Rapido yesterday I think it was, which is how I learned about these cars. (I think I did see reference to them a week or two back and meant to look into it but never did.  And honestly I figured they were out of era for me until I saw this PDF with the reference to production starting in 1987.)

So it's possible this PDF is a new thing.

Thanks for posting the series/build date info, good stuff.

Yeah, no, thanks. The information wasn't in the place I was looking, so it's nice to get it.

Thanks cv_acr and Rivet Mscounter for the info.

As Rapido says the single cars are randomly taken from the 6 pack.

The following production runs will work for me.

CN 623260-623299 blt. 1987 NSC

CP 318000-318283 blt. 1988 NSC

BCOL 730400-730499 blt. 1993 NSC

I think the CNs are still in service and the CPs finished in 2003
