Thanks, all! It was a fun little project that I built last year, and just got around to getting the surrounding scene finished this year.

The stainless steel hypo tube is 0.010" OD, 0.005" ID. The wire inside of it is 0.004" stainless music wire.

Thanks DKS.  Amazing!

Jealous that you have so much space to work with. Not jealous that you will have half the earth to scenic !

Lets see, at 10 trees per evening, it will only take  (fill in a number here) days to make enough for the first room  :P

I've been whittling away on two other dioramas, which I will eventually feature in new Layout Engineering threads when I'm further along. For now, here's a look at a completed animation for the diorama "Saturday at the Park," which features an assortment of fun little set pieces.

No, we are indeed not worthy!

I'm also interested in the figures. They look extremely realistic (extra credit for them not being glossy!). Where are those from?

Those are Preiser figures. The one with the RC controller is a wine store customer. He was holding a wine bottle. I cut off the neck and replaced it with a bit of fine wire for the antenna. The other fellow is a photographer.

Iā€™m still working on Seaboard System F7A No. 116, which, you may recall, I backdated from a Walthers CSXT No. 116 shell to return the locomotive to its early- to mid-1980s look.  This weekend, I painted and installed the grab irons, and all paint touch-ups are now finished.  The next step will be the clear coat once the fresh paint cures, and then I can install the windows and headlight lens.

Attended the 2nd Annual Red River RPS meet in Fort Worth yesterday.  I was there from open to close 9a-6p and it was a lot of fun.   I posted a select few pics from the event that I took with my phone.  I also brought my Sony but haven't uploaded those yet.    Here are the phone pics: (Facebook, but public) https://www.facebook.com/mockind/posts/424121129726940

Highlights:
1. Greg Burzynski's Free-Mo-N modules stole the show IMHO.   He brought almost his entire set of segments...something like a 15x20 "L" of Milwuakee/SOO (and Rock Island) goodness.   It looked great and ran well.  He has definitely spawned the era of Free-Mo-N in central/north-central Texas for sure.
2. A close second was Marshall Peterson's Northwest Marshall Peterson's son's N-Scale layout.   It had some fantastic scenery, nice bridges, and some neat 3D printed structures.   :)
3. The there was Marshall Peterson's fantastic Northwestern Industrial Park layout, which has amazing detail.   It seems there was someone running this layout all day long.  Marshall also had his 3D printed wares on display and he has some really neat stuff in development.   His modern water tower is a must have if you are post-80's.
4. And of course tons of incredible HO modeling...one guy had some really nice weathering on a bunch of modern-ish rolling stock, and several others had similar collections.
5. Several vendors, some good clinics, and raffles. (I won an HO-scale laser cut car storage box...yay!  lol)

Quite a bit happened with my crane over the week. I completely redid the body to improve on things I didn't like with the first body.

I did my first test with the motor mounted and wired. The good news is it runs. The bad is there will need to be some adjustments made to quiet it down. I believe the powered axle is vibrating within the truck so I'll have to figure that out or come up with a different method of powering this.

Hi Y'all,

I added some details to my Intermountain F7 set
I think, I'm gonna add a bit of lite weathering.

Thanks,
Wolf

Great work everyone! Great report from miscounter, I heard from a reliable source that the FreemoN was 21ā€™ x 27ā€™. It was pretty impressive. With modelers in the dfw/ central Texas area I believe Lone Star Free mo N will be a major force.

Wolf, the bonnets are VERY nice!
