No Conrail B36-7’s either. I was excited to see the GE Dash 7’s in the announcement, then disappointed that the owner of the second largest fleet was not represented again. Hopefully the next run.Jeff
I know that, in the past, I was told it's because they're not accurate for the Conrail B36s. The Conrail units used a different frame or something so it's not just an issue like "wrong door latches" or something like that, but something that makes them far enough off for them not to do them. So, I think I might work on getting some undecs and doing the most famous trio of Conrail B36-7s: 5044-5052-5045.
I have not examined them with a fine toothed comb to be certain what the short comings are. Did Atlas not base their model of one of the owners of a small fleet of B36-7’s. Santa Fe maybe? Meanwhile, CSX (Seaboard System 120) owned the most and Conrail (60) second most. Those account for 180 of the 230 GE sold. Not sure why you would not base the model on the largest purchasers of the prototype. Are those three CR ones you want to model the ones from Chase, Maryland?
Yep, they're the infamous trio. Oh, figured it out! It's the truck centers.https://trainiax.net/mephase-geb-7.phpI think all the other B Boats they do are the other one.I mean, will I live with a 6" discrepancy in truck centers? Absolutely. But I can see why they might not do them from the factory.
I suppose I'll just have to resign myself that all Atlas offerings of anything from now on in NH colors will only be McGinnis versions. Best I buy one of the first-run FAs and repaint it. Your rebuttal, Mr Bussey?
I think most N scale CR modelers would not know the difference. I could live with it. As long as the Conrail units are with GE factory paint and fat exhaust stacks, I say produce them. They would not want to do them in HO, since HO has B36-7’s from Rapido which are spot on. Thanks.Jeff
I do not need another tank car.I do not need another tank car.I do not need another tank car.
Has anybody else noticed that the artwork for the RSD's has truck mounted couplers and end steps/pilots? I have to think that is not really they way they will be made.
