Te FVM poinmt aside, what does "all-new N scale locomotive announcement" mean?  "All new" modifies "announcement".  It means the announcement is new, not necessarily the locomotive.  So that statement could be for new paint schemes, not a new body style.

If they do a GEVO it will be an ST GEVO not FVM’s. They already make an HO GEVO and have the mech for a GEVO, -9 and AC4400.
IM will maybe do the FVM gevos but who knows when.

pure speculation - perhaps they are using the FVM shell + their mechanism, sound, DCC?  perhaps the SD70ACE is coming too?

This makes sense - removes a competitor.  The FVM shell needs work for NS, that is for sure but it might be interesting.
