This is one awesome model railroad and it rivals: https://www.facebook.com/TeninoWesternRR/

Wow, thank you!  That is quite a compliment.

My most recent progress was adding brick siding to "H.H. Taylor & Son Lumber & Hardware" building in New Milford. I also added a heavy duty forklift for unloading lumber.  The wrapped and stacked lumber loads in the background and on the truck trailer are commercial lumber loads. The individual plywood stacks are made from thin craft plywood I found at Michael's crafts, about 6 years ago. They are made from extremely thin veneers. I glued a couple of sheets together to get an approximate 4' N scale height and then cut 4 x 8 n-scale pieces. I used a fine, brass wire brush on the edges to try to create some texture in order to give the impression of individual sheets. Some are glued to scale stripwood, to separate the stacks and allow for forklift transport. The ones in this scene are simply proof of concept. I still need to make a lot more, add banding, and paint the ends (someday).

That's a really great looking scene.
Just a tidbit of info FYI, nearly all lumber and plywood units are packaged in approx. 24" high x 48" wide units.

I appreciate that information.  I will definitely make that modification when I make more loads.

Thank you!

Here are two recent videos of Randy Stahl's (sd45elect2000) amazing Milwaukee Road ore train running over the steel trestle and an overview of the whole train on my layout.  He painted, decaled (unique road numbers on all), and weathered all 150 ore cars.  He also body mounted the couplers and installed low profile wheels.  The train was just over 22 feet long and was a great test for his craftsmanship and for my trackwork.  That was a fun day!

Don’t forget, we were able to back a significant portion of that train for quite a distance. There is the measure of your trackwork.

The tru scale couplers worked well, there was no slinky effect which would have certainly pissed me off.

I need to get some decoder equipped stuff ready for another visit. I was thinking about the Con Cor Zephyr , maybe the Aerotrain?

Do you ever do open houses? I'd love to see your layout sometime if you do.

I have not done any open houses yet, but I hope to change that soon.

Looks like some ND&W trackage there in the opening scene
