Thanks guys. It helps that this kit was really well thought out.

fcnrwy23:  I saw that same train on NS just south of Kenova today, working the westbound main.

Did a bit of weathering on a foob GS-4 (not deskirted, numberboards in the wrong place) for a bit of "might-have-been" for a customer a couple of weeks ago.  Was a fun project, and just got the photos of it a few days ago.  Next on the list is an old brass N-scale UP Challenger for the same customer.

Photo (1) Kato GS-4 Foob Paint & Configuration, Weathered by Me...(Jared Sharp Photo):

Used my stash of Polly Scale paints for it, shot out of one of my Paasche AB Turbo airbrushes, with some streaking done with a beat-up brush dipped in alcohol.

Photo (2) GS-4 on John E. Rimmasch's Layout (John E. Rimmasch Photo):

This is the heaviest I've every weathered a steam engine and I used a prototype color photo as my reference. SP liked 'em dirty! :)

Cheerio!

I really enjoy seeing everyone's progress here!
I had about an hour and a half free after work last night, so I added some more undergrowth, deadfall and some riprap under the arch bridge in the Cornwall Bridge, CT portion of my layout.  I did work on the forested portion toward the backdrop section of the scene.  I still need to do some sparse static grass between the tracks and along the spur track for Becton Dickenson, which branches off to the right.  All, in all, I did the undergrowth detail for a section about 6 feet in length on my N scale layout over the weekend.  There are some photos posted above of earlier progress this weekend.

Some long time Railwire members may recall seeing that kit that was produced by Karin Snyder who went by *Alaska Railroader.  It is perfect for the scene I am modeling.  (Edited to reflect the correct name.)

Edit: Wow, I need to work on the room lighting. The blue appearance in photos is very undesirable. I had switched from florescent lighting to new LED fixturess, but the color temperature is too cold in photos. It looks good to me, in person, but not online.
I sense another project (and expense) coming up.

Really, really nice modeling.

Some long time Railwire members may recall seeing that "D.K.S." arch bridge kit.  It is perfect for the scene I am modeling.

I don't think that was a DKS Production.  It was done by Karin Snyder who went by *Alaska Railroader, perhaps?

Wow, that is correct!
I shall edit my post to give proper credit.  Thank you Bryan!

Also, Eric, as you know, I really dig your layout.
That bridge scene reminds me of a prototype Housatonic video I just saw.

I would hope a layout of the Housatonic reminds you of the Housatonic.  :ashat:

Good stuff though, great sense of scale with the expansive scenery.

Ed, that represents Cornwall Bridge, CT.  The old station is now a private residence.  [ Guests cannot view attachments ] [ Guests cannot view attachments ]

It was something about the interaction of the vegetation and the RoW. I dunno, it just "clicked".

Either way, I really love watching your progress!

I personally have seen one (empty) several years ago.  But, have yet to see one in action...

Robert,
Well done. Grimy and well "used". I like that you used some Polly Scale, I still have a bit as well. Appreciate that you used a "prototype" photo, makes things a bit easier and more accurate! Definitely a "Foob" on a GS. However, there were a few MTs that sported this scheme...
