Magnet Wire - Source?

Where do you all buy your magnet wire from? Looking for 30, 32 or 34 AWG.

I know that most of the popular DCC specialty online hobby shops sell them, but they charge a ridiculous amount for shipping the smallest items.
Conversely, I also know that some electronic/industrial parts sites sell magnet wire for low prices in bulk quantities, but I don't think I will live long enough to use up a mile's length spool of 32 AWG wire.

IMO, 32AWG is rather thick (stiff) as far as magnet wire goes.

I mostly get mine for free from old electrical devices.  Anything with a coil. inside.  Switch machine coil, computer cooling fans, relays, doorbells, automotive solenoids, etc., etc.  Transformers have magnet wire, but taking the iron core apart is a hassle.

Some coils even have multiple colors enamel, so that makes using them on LEDs easier.

i just go the local scrap yard, and it's free for the taking. old motors, solenoids, door bells, all have appropriate sizes of magnet wire ..

Another vote for Remington Industries.  When I was experimenting with rewinding all those Rivarossi armatures, they were my go-to place for super fine 42 and 44 AWG wire with Polyamideimide insulation, which is tougher and more heat-resistant than the conventional enamel coatings.  They sell many spool sizes, too, so you don't have to buy a whole pound of the stuff.
