Based on a sliver of time in history (1970-1972) and the picture below..

https://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=572423&nseq=77

In theory...

There could be at least one Burlington Northern Flexi-Van flat used in passenger and/or express service......
It may simply be a patched Burlington flat but still..

Neat!   I also note what looks like a green Penn Central B60 in the upper-right corner of the photo.

I'm sorry Dave, I'm afraid I can't do that.

Some WP Flexi-vans as well. Nice.

As for the ex-Q flexi-flats, the only difference between the '68 and '72 ORERs is that the AAR codes change from FC / F060 to FC / F976. They are still listed under their original Q numbers in the January '72 ORER. They may have ended up in the BN 6364## series but I have no confirmation of that.

Edit to add:

Might as well wallow in one's obsessions.

Charlie Vlk didn't keep his project stick to himself and sent it to me via email.  I just did a google image search with it and it doesn't seem to pop up anywhere, so it may be from his personal collection.

Here is another 'odd' one...
[ Guests cannot view attachments ]

I've seen a few shots of smooth side and reefer trailers FV Trailers, but nothing else like the trailer above.

Maybe Strick offered any of their trailer designs as Flexi-Van compatable?  (Or any flat bottom Strick trailer would work if the FV was designed around Strick Trailer dimensions?

Also, I have found evidence in train lists of 20' Strick-Tainers running on FV Flats

I assume its a joke related to the upside down trailer, but Australia actually DID have Flexi-Vans!!

Meant to do that.  8)

Interesting though, I assume that while no where near as common as the current standardized containers they still had a good global reach right?

@Sokramiketes

Might I inquire about those Rockwell trucks? 3d printed, I presume?
