That D&RGW car is a looker. Wow.Can anyone give some info on the yellow moron marks? Are they from the modern era, or older? Also, that L&N boxcar is gorgeous as well. I've got to avoid more 40' cars though. If it were 10' longer I'd be in trouble.I'm not complaining. I'm sure there will be something next month that I must have.
I cannot see MTL doing a Bessemer version, so I may have to do them myself. So tempting.Jeff
You can't? Seems like a perfect candidate for an 8 pack weathered release.
The Rock Island blue 100 ton hopper runner pack is interesting. Those cars were built by Greenville Steel Car Company in 1978. They were only on The Rock for two years, then quite a few of them were bought by the Bessemer and Lake Erie and became their class HT53 hoppers. The BLE painted out the logo and reporting marks with baby blue paint and added BLE reporting marks. Not a hard thing to do modeling wise. They spent the next forty plus years hauling iron ore, coke and coal for the Bessemer and Union Railroad. They frequently ended up on Conrail, Chessie and N and W hauling those items to non Pittsburgh area steel plants. I cannot see MTL doing a Bessemer version, so I may have to do them myself. So tempting.Jeff
I just saw a video of them in use on an ore train on the high line from South Philly. I was like "huuuuuh?". But it made sense.
