STL Files of common parts

Does anyone know if there is a library of common N scale parts around that can be leveraged?

I'm playing with some already available models and need to engineer truck/coupler mounting situations.

I can go draw up stuff like truck components and coupler boxes, but I figured there wouldn't be any sense in reinventing the wheel.

That would be really useful (coupler boxes, etc). If I ever get around to this 3D stuff - I would put a lot of it out there as "public domain".

I've been trying to put that stuff in the directory, but we should just have a thread for stuff that people are fine being "open source".

Your not reinventing the wheel, your just making it less square  :)

it's no problem scaling stl files if necessary, but things like wall thickness -might- have to be modified to work well ..

Yeah, but if done to "scale" people can adjust as necessary.

There are several Facebook groups related to mrr that have files for printing.

N3D
3D Printing For Model Railroading
3D Printing AND Model Railroading
N- Scale Model Railroading

All are free and generally better than most things on Thingiverse.

What scale?  1:1?  1:160? 1:25? If 1:1, how do you design a "scale" MTL coupler box?   :?  ;)
