My Heathkit ultrasonic cleaner has expired.  I found this one on Amazon:  https://www.amazon.com/HFS-Commercial-Digital-Ultrasonic-Cleaner/dp/B01ENVZ0LU/ref=sr_1_21?keywords=ultrasonic%2Bcleaner&qid=1646583099&sr=8-21&th=1

Any thoughts or recommendations?

it's pricey, but gives 240 watts ultrasonic power .... shouldn't take very long to remove some grunge ..
you can get them for a third of the price [like mine] but they have less power [80 watt], and take longer to clean

I just bought the 3L version of this unit, but mine does not have a drain spigot, which would be very handy.

Holly carp, those are some industrial-size cleaners!  That would take some serious amount of Naphtha to fill.  Mine is like 9 fl.  oz. size.

The larger size will allow me to clean my 1970s motorcycle vacuum carburetors.

I had no idea you could take a bath when buying an ultrasonic cleaner. Damn those are expensive.

well I was going to post the micro mark cleaners, but the price vs size is out of line:

FWIW, one of the reviews mentions leakage from the internal "plumbing", so you may actually be better off with your unit.

I picked up an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner from a big box store a number of years ago mostly for cleaning the chain on my bicycle when they started becoming expensive. paid about $40 for it, holds around a pint of liquid, and has an oval chamber about 6" x 4" and 2" deep and a basket to put parts in. Only drawback was draining it to filter out the gunk. not nearly as much crud coming from anything in the model railroad world....

Cleaning chain on bicycle...  Brings back memories of doing this when a teenager by taking a bucket of leaded gasoline, putting the chain in it, and manipulating it with my bare hands.   Also the cranks, etc.  (...)

Hmmm; I like that one better than the one I found.  It looks big enough for a carburetor as well, and I don't mind having to lift the entire thing to empty it.  Leaving out the "plumbing" eliminates much of the prospect for leaks.

I had a similar smaller version of that and the thing I do not like is the seam between the housing and the top of the stainless vessel.  When you dump the thing out the liquid will go inside the machine.  I was forced to use a basting bulb tro remove the fluid. PITA.

Are you referring to the Harbor Freight one?
