Athearn N Scale Survey

Athearn has had a survey link on Facebook requesting feedback on what HO products we'd like to see converted to N.

Get on the TTRX spine car and Amtrak California request line here:

https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/kjw2fnb

CF7s, MP15ACs, SD38/39/40, AC400CWs also in the mix.

Only takes a minute.

It sucks that you can't make suggestions other than what they want.  Their freight cars choices didn't move me one bit, great big whole in the 50s 60s 70s eras (unless you count a pickle car or caboose that was regional.  Not that they're both not tempting cars but they're kinda useless to most of the US and Canada.
Failing to prepare is preparing to fail.

DONE!

Other than the Amtrak California/Surfliner cars, even this modern-era guy is not enthused by the choices. Especially the locos. The fact that Athearn has never done a GE locomotive in N before makes me nervous. I voted for the AC4400CW but Kato already makes a solid one (though having more paint schemes would help (*cough* SP *cough*)), and I'm confident ScaleTrains will make one that would knock my socks off - one day. The spine cars would be nice if the hitches can fold and you can actually put containers on them. I have some of the original BLMA Trinity 57' spine cars and though they're great for trailers, the container pedestals are just for show since you can't actually put a container on one.

There's a shyness found in reason
Apprehensive influence swallow away
You seem to feel abysmal take it
Then you're careful grace for sure
Kinda like the way you're breathing
Kinda like the way you keep looking away

Stunningly personal on the demographic page. Answer all the questions truthfully and they can identify you.

That information is valuable to Survey Monkey - most likely they add it in.  You can just skip the demographics (I did).

The CF7s would be great for short line motive power, and the MP15ACs would compliment my LIRR C420s.

My first choice was for the SD70ACU/SD80/SD90. Now if only they could bring back those N Scale Macks!

Yeah, but this stuff IS useful for smaller companies like these.
If they're just using spreadsheets to look at the data, entries like that make them go "oh, looks like the market should be able to support higher prices".

Do I want to give someone like Facebook that data? Not likely.
But Athearn? I didn't have a problem with it.
