I'm confused here (but I confuse easily):
Didn't USRA boxcars and rebuilds have USRA fishbelly underframes?

I think the answer is yes and no.  On the original USRA designs, the double sheathed cars had fishbelly underframes, but most of the single sheathed (aka outside braced) cars did not- as the steel cross bracing provided sufficient stiffening.    Also, depending on when the rebuild was done, some cars got new underframes.
There are also many early steel cars that resemble the USRA design, but are in the ARA era (I think the X29 and its clones and near clones fall into this category).  Some of the cars being produced by BLI come with dreadnought ends, which IIRC places them well into the ARA era, BLI labeling notwithstanding.

I have a mind like a steel trap...a VERY rusty, old steel trap.

I find it interesting that BLI went through the trouble of noting which hoppers are fantasy paint schemes, but not the boxcars.  And since we're pointing out which schemes are not correct, the Pacemaker scheme is also a fantasy for this boxcar.

This. I would like to know which of the boxcars are accurate (or reasonable facsimiles of) vs. foobs. Particularly interested in te SP and UP cars...

The cars in the 4 packs (NYC (and subsidiaries), RDG, DLW, NB) are prototypical... Everything else is a foob...

The SP car is a foob. SP avoided USRA designs like the plague (yes, they did get SOME USRA cars...most notably was the DS wood box cars, but they didn't WANT them).

After looking closer at the ad it says:

"In addition to the NYC models, we are also offering eleven 2-packs of models in fantasy paint schemes."

So it looks like ALL the cars are fantasy (except the NYC).

I sent them an email complaining about the misleading text, and they responded that they would make it clear the two-packs were fantasy schemes.  The two sentences that follow that sentence are still misleading (as New Haven for example did not have any equipment that even resembled the USRA cars), but at least they made it clear that the schemes are not prototypical.
