I got my record collection off of my desk so I have room for modeling again
Nice looking patch job Ed, I've always liked CR patches, lots of colors.Made a few for a buddy of mine several years ago as he decided to model early CR.Here's a few I did up for himNow get that beast weathered!
The Mr Surfacer people make a flat clearcoat that works well.
Rattle can or airbrush @Ed Kapuscinski ? I have found that airbrushing XF86 gives somewhat of a satin finish. Adding a few drops of XF21 "flat base" helps, but too much can cause a dusty/frosty look.Dullcote sure is the gold standard, but definitely not basement-friendly Frank
I really miss Dull-Cote.
this is the spray that I used. It was a bit expensive so I use it sparingly. I think that I got it off of Amazon.this stuff worked better than anything else that I have tried.
By Sunday night my CR 3278 project is coming along.I have to say that I am not impressed with Tamiya Flat Clear as a Dullcote replacement. It's not nearly as "flat" as it claims.
It looks like you need to print a new stack too.
there are lots of flaws - but overall, it captures the model fairly well ..
Nice! I see it comes in a rattle can too. Where do you get yours from?
Amazon. Stocked up along with the various surfacers and finishers. The manufacturer's website has all the products listed, including a large variety of clear top coats. Flat, Gloss, semi-gloss, UV-cut, etc.https://www.mr-hobby.com/en/product2/category_11.html
John . . . you note flaws? All I see is WOW! Great job.sincerelyGary
