GREENS:   FYI -  I had this discussion with one of our graphics artist in March and we made a change then to the artworks in the design phase - they will show up later this year.....

JTC has used four different shades of green on the below, based on prototype photos and our own local observations.

These JTC models have the darkest shade of green we have used:
537003 EMP

These below have a shade lighter Green, and are Two different body styles;
537017 HUB
537051 HUB

The below have the next lighter shade green (faded);
537025 EMP6443xx series

And the below is a lighter green, designed for a full faded look with patch.
537039 EMP (ex-hub faded, lighter green, with the dk green patch of Hub logo area.

Note that none of these in person, look as light as the model photographs do.

Any input is Welcome. I believe that you all want more of the 537003 green, maybe a shade darker, as well.

The lighter green I see locally in transit on chassis, the paint almost has a dull chalk look to it, much lighter than new green HUB or EMP.

JTC's intent is to provide some variety as we document  in the prototype world.

More of the darker greens in the works. Thanks for the input.

This cool Mike Danneman photo nicely illustrates the variety of greens seen in the HUB and EMP cans.  And this one shows that the preponderance of them have the darker hue.  It's great to have a variety available.

The portable livestock loading chute turned out to be an added bonus.

Nice.  I didn't realize there was a branch of the Pocatello Sub the ran through Wyoming; I thought it split off at Ogden.  But it makes sense after looking at the map more carefully.  I really like the scene that Mike captured there, and that boxcar has held up amazingly well.

And I apologize to Steve for the thread drift.

The line between Ogden and Pocatello that continued north to Silver Bow (Butte) was the old Utah and Northern.  The line between Granger, WY and Pocatello that continued west to Huntington, OR was the mainline for the Oregon Short Line.  About 30 years ago I came across an old OSL boxcar in south central Idaho in which the paint also looked great.  However, I think the rancher may have "restored" it because the other side of the boxcar was very faded.
