Wow a CHP Trainmaster. Amazing times we live in to get that factory painted.

Sound equipped geeps.

Anyone gonna be in the market for new run shells with old run mechs?

It'll be interesting to see what their performance will be like.

Can’t miss a C&O release! It’s been a long time since I bought a new Atlas diesel. Which mechanism is the old one? Why is it less desirable?

The new sound mech has a much more reliable decoder interface and the truck used wire interface to the frame instead of the old strips.
Which ever side of the track I am on is the right side.

Nice, New Trinity PD 3230 hopper.
I do wish Atlas would put body mount on there tank cars.

The new sound mechs also have sound.

I have like half a dozen geeps that all are candidates for upgrading.

Oh boy!  This will complement my cement fleet nicely, especially if they're as well done as their big brothers: the 5660s.

Is the Trainmaster prototypical? I always found those huge red and green LEDs a bit "disturbing". YMMV

(And which 60' passenger coach is prototypical?)

California Highway Patrol ?!? I didn't realize they had their own railroad! Yes, it is surprising that Atlas would actually sell a model factory-decorated for CHP RR.

In terms of the roadnames in this catalog, well,...none.  The NYC and NH car numbers would be much more at home on the MTL single window coach.  That or MTL paired window would be closer for most of the rest.  The EL coaches with those numbers were old Lackawanna coaches (Boontons, I assume) that were converted for use as trailers with electric powered cars.  Those were at least short, but not as short, and windows, and car ends, are different.  Other than that, Atlas has numbered the cars with numbers on coaches of the respective railroads, but that is about the only way in which they are accurate.

As far as I know, the only road for which these are accurate is Chicago & Northwestern.  Some other roads did have similar short cars, but generally those were 4 or more feet longer OR had wood sides (and the wood bodies usually with truss rods).

Passenger cars aside, I may be in for a Wabash GP-9 if I have any money left after buying a car (1:1 scale automotive).  And it is good to see this much N scale coming from Atlas- its seems like quite a while since we've seen this much new product come out in N.

Ooh, I have 2 detailed CP GP7’s with the old ‘Classic’ non DCC friendly chassis that have been looking for a solution since my dive into DCC. And 2 CP Trainmasters, also currently without DCC, painted in the original long hood forward paint scheme that has always bothered me. That’s going to be a bunch of $CD.

I'll need a few of these for interchange from MMID and Lehigh Cement, but $47.95 ?  Holy #$@^&  :o :scared:
