Ohhhhh C&O GP-7's. I moved to South Carolina and into a condo so I have no room for a layout, I got rid of about 2/3's of my cars and loco's and now this. Thank god for Northeast Georgia N scalers!!

Gottta get those and an Owensboro Grain tank car or 3.

California Highway Patrol ?!? I didn't realize they had their own railroad! Yes, it is surprising that Atlas would actually sell a model factory-decorated for CHP RR.

It would be great if Atlas made the frames for the new GP7 and GP9 to accommodate low hoods.  I need to make a GP7U and a low hood frame would be a huge help!

Well, I am very excited about the torpedo tube TH&B geeps.

They only had three (401-403) and have been on my to-do list for as long as I can remember.
Still might have to renumber one to get 401 and complete the fleet!

That would be a great if they low hooded the 7's and 9's. Maybe even give them a chance to do the pretty rare SD-18's. Then if they would high hood the Geep 30's and 25's, they could sell quite a few of a couple of roads at least.

Four New Haven 9s with sound coming this way.  If the deco is better than when it was last released in `08, it will be a straight replacement of the current units.  Otherwise, shell-swaps.

I'll need a few of these for interchange from MMID and Lehigh Cement, but $47.95 ?  Holy #$@^&  :o :scared:

At least you'll be getting a brand-new car by paying out the poop-chute. The Grace Catalyst Pressuraide cars I've been waiting on are $36 for a model that's already 2 decades old...

Didn't Atlas recently get the tooling for the True Line GP7us?

I think I'd be in for a couple RI GP7s if I can find out if they are doing silver trucks/tank or the black shown in the artwork.

Anyone had luck contacting Atlas lately?

As much as I would like to have some cement hoppers, I'm going to have to think long and hard at that price. Hopefully it's a typo.

But otherwise, the Trainmasters in SP will be ordered. I have a pair in Black Widow, but I'd much prefer the bloody nose scheme.

Might end up taking home a Geep 7/9 if they go on clearance and pick up a shell to have some fun with it.

Anyone know which frames they kept? I never owned a Walthers GP20 but I’d imagine they used the same frames as the GP18, which could support low short hood shells. Since they’ve already brought out the GP20’s again (not sure if they had sound though), I wonder if Atlas would retire their GP7/9 frame and use the 18/20 ones going forward to save on costs to retool molds for sound. That could make kitbashing the Paducah rebuilds a lot easier.

The new sound mechs also have sound.

I have like half a dozen geeps that all are candidates for upgrading.

I'm sorry, but I am confused. Where does it say the geeps are coming with sound? Does "silver" mean sound? For $139 bucks? Wow thing doesn't "sound" right here.
I could use new sound friendly mechanisms for my detailed zebra GP-7'a....

The gold versions for $250 (page 7 of the catalog).

The Silver are just "sound ready", as in the frame is cast with a location for a speaker and decoder of your choosing, verses the Gold coming with ESU Sound decoder and a speaker factory installed.

IIRC the silvers have a speaker installed, so all you need is the decoder
