Virtual modeling for me this weekend. I had planned to dive into my WM K2 boiler this month, but while we were in PA for the Holidays I was able to spend some time on the former Dutch line. I crawled all over the WM RPO in New Oxford and instead of the K2, I've cranked out a shells for one of the 180 series RPOs. To the best of my knowledge the handful of cars in this series was identical with the exception of the number of windows. The 183 preserved in New Oxford only has three, while most others had 4. At any rate, adding an extra window was easy. I'm stalled out on the dang roof. I thought I had come up with a way to do the compound curves on the end, but it didn't work out. ugh!

I finished a pair of "forgotten" 40-foot trailers, and planted some weeds around them.  These are old Wheel Works kits:

My scratchbuilt station is not nearly finished, but I am working my way up to planting it:

If anyone wants to try to build that BNSF plow, here's a link to a picture of the left side:

Bryan:  The 3D printed coach body looks amazing!  Certainly shows how far and how accessible the technology has become.  Very useful for passenger car modelling given the enormous variation of the prototypes compared with freight cars.

Frank:  Nice trailer scene; seen that many times here in B.C.

With tracklaying revision at Chetwynd complete, the left yard section was flipped up on its back to work on the wiring revisions underneath.  Last week I tagged all of the old feeders to be re-used or terminated, the new feeders to be wired in, and the relocated servos to be re-connected and re-powered.  my goal this coming week will be to eliminate all of the green tags!

A little under the weather this weekend so taking it easy and working on a cardboard mock-up for the grain elevator at Groundbirch:

FGE (ex-PRR) R7 reefer, first attempt.  Some minor tweaking needed but I could make this work if necessary.

Absolutely! I’ve got one just as you describe, except it’s on the west coast, is double width, and include a nice piece of stained glass across the top. It is arguably the grandest part of this old house.

Yerp pretty standard design in all sorts of dwellings, but especially two story homes. Often with decor lights and/or internal/external gardens giving that 'flow' appeal!
After all nobody runs naked down the stairs any more exc the chn...?

Playing with my new 3D printer and working with on multiple projects simultaneously. I received a donor Super Chief RPO today and put the floor under a Budd RPO with new trucks. Have to print the glass but looking good so far.

Wow- the mainstream manufacturers, and China are in danger with you around! :scared:

I’ve started ballasting and initial ground cover for the layout. Primarily focusing on the between the rails first. One of the benefits to modeling neglected, ex-Class 1, now shortline trackage is the ballast bed and industrial tracks are really just a mix of mud with some stone thrown in. I’ll be doing some slight digging into the foam to form some shallow ditches, but for the most part the ground cover will end up even with the ties.
