some of the manufacturers made late decisions based on their folks testing positive.  Bar Mill just posted a video about their no-show this morning.  bummer for all those involved.

No Atlas? At $48 per cement hopper, would YOU want to face the public with their torches, pitchforks, tar & feathers?

Atlas was a no show long before that was announced.  Not certain they were ever on the list

Yes, in Reply #6 in this thread on January 8th, according to Bryan, Atlas was already a no-show due to COVID concerns.

As much as I look forward to going to shows and swap meets and ops sessions again, it's still not s civic-minded decision to do so.  I don't think I need to mention why, it's been with us for two years already, but wishing it wasn't a thing doesn't make it go away.  The proximity those shows offer is sure to leave people wishing they hadn't gone afterwards.  I don't wish that on anyone.

One of my club member said it best.  Attending the show is a personal decision.  Can't be further than the truth in my opinion.

I went to a show in Baltimore last month -- it wasn't after the crowd cleared out some . but I kept my distance from people .. I'm probably going to invite people to JFRT in a few months .. but will ask that folks be protected.

Just checked my email.

Both Ron’s Books and Tichy Train Group are canceling because of the weather.

I was all prepared to go-I'm fully vaccinated and boosted, and usually plan a pretty quick trip in and out, hitting the usual vendors and exhibits. My car tires are a bit iffy on the tread, and with the projected snow, I am bailing. Really looking forward to scoring some used locos and materials. Seems like some vendors I usually stop at have already cancelled.

I was planning on going up on Saturday, since I am only an hour away, and I am not available on Sunday.  With the latest forecast and with CT already putting a tractor trailer ban in effect as of 6:00 am tomorrow morning and asking residents to stay off the roads, I am using discretion and passing on going this year.  The Exposition grounds crews do a great job with snow removal, and the ride up would not be too bad, but the ride home would surely be a challenge.  I'll just try to use some of the time for layout work instead.  I will miss seeing friends and acquaintances there though.

JTC (Stan) already made the trip up on Thursday afternoon, so if you do go, See Stan in the YOUNG building, to see pre-production samples of New projects, New Releases, and a spread of the variety available in N Scale Intermodal from JTC Models.

We're hoping there will be little difficulties making it back to the airport on Sunday evening :O

Same here...  AWD car on newish tires and live <30min out.  Had planned to go for a bit, but after seeing the E-mail from Tichy saying they were skipping it (which is where I was going to spend most of my money at), I'm going to pass this year.

The winds ought to clear the runways, but with all the cancelled flights there may not be any airplanes to carry folks home.

ESU Fans at the show should check out their new display.  Two new decoder announcements for N Scale.

Finally a good quality (ESU) decoder for Kato E-units (and others)!  But wait . . . it is not a decoder but an adapter board that holds the snapped-in nano decoder!  Hmmm.  I'm surprised that this arrangement provides enough clearance inside the very tight top clearance E-units (Wutter's similar adapter board for micro decoder doesn't).  Makes me wonder if ESU actually tested it in E-units.  :?
