Hey, they’re semi-related to my protolancing! In my world the Greenville and Northern took over much of the remaining ex-P&N for CSX here in Greenville, but in reality CSX abandoned south from River Jct to the CPDR north of Mauldin, and operates unit ethanol trains from Spartanburg to Belton, with the Greenville and Western operating the local customers and ethanol switching. Meanwhile, Republic operates out of the former P&N River Jct shops off the CSX yard.

Speaking of my layout, nothing worth photographing, I’ve just been turning the wheels of industry on the layout and moving around cars. It’s been fun to have a more expanded layout; in Memphis I kept trying to build switching layouts and having only two spurs is not as fun as a run around and three spurs (with a transload spot). I’m also stuck on what to do next, since it’s been a while since I’ve built a layout. Those questions and more will be posed over on the layout thread.

I got really bored while I was in Korea for a while, and I designed a 3D model of that to to fit a Tsugawa TU-TMC100 chassis model I downloaded off of Thingverse.

Since USPS stopped sending me stuff I was looking around for a modelling victim. I chose the Bachmann F9 to see if I couldn't make it look better. I think I got carried away 
I have  chopped out the winterization hatch and replaced it with a fan., the front pilots have also been filled in and reshaped.
I've removed the Steam Generator bits on top of the shell. I have also removed the number boards and second headlight. One glaring modification that is next is to cut out the front windows and insert Kato / Intermountain style front windows.

Nice work!  In this age of 3D printing exact replicas, I always enjoy seeing a modeller doing it the old way, and putting life back into older models. Well done sir. Looking forward to seeing more progress.

I don't model the New York Central or P&LE, but came into a few NYC loco shells. I decided to do P&LE 5728 in New York Central System out of an NYC unnumbered GP7. Only modification was relocating the horns for longhood forward running.

I'm making more progress on my HOn3 D&RGW Jordan Spreader OU.  I added the front blade/flanger assembly to the underside of the frame (yes, it clears the rail tops).  I also added the side blade arm pockets/hinges that will support the side blade extender arms.  And I permanently attached the deck house with the side blade raisers attached.  The last photo shows a side blade temporarily mounted.

This week's work on preparing for layout re-installation included replacing a damaged spur track at Dawson Creek:








and getting the passage hole through the wall for the Fort St. John Subdivision cut out:








Meanwhile, at the workbench, the decals for my Van Iron chip cars have arrived:




and I have built a test section for affixing the map logograms over the side posts:

My early 1950's "Chief" running on the Minnesota Free-moN layout on Saturday.  The power are detailed Kato F3's.

I'm slowly making my way through some more Kato Maxi-IV upgrades:




The main improvement is the replacement of the end-frames with 3-d printed replacements that include an integral body-mount coupler pocket and some finer details.  Also replaced the brake wheel and end-unit trucks with Micro-Trains parts and applied some basic weathering, including several coats of a light brown wash to try and lighten up the very dark brown factory paint.

@GaryHinshaw those car ends are superb.  The overall effect is tremendous.
