Yeah!  What Ed said.
Like someone else mentioned upthread, you pick the neatest themes to build.

Hey Chris,

Can you show us the waist deep piles of "@Chris333 specials" you must have lying around with all of the cool mini- and not-so-mini-layouts that you've built over the years?

I don't think the whole internet is big enough to handle that.  :scared:

The small layout I'm picking parts off of to build this one will get tossed.

It has a nice thick layer of dust on it. I literally haven't touched it in about 3 years.

That's too bad, I followed that build thread, and IMO that is one of the finest N-scale layouts I have ever seen.

I agree.  I always enjoyed seeing pics of that layout.

From what I have observed about Chris is that he likes to design and build very nice layouts (plus locos, and rolling stock), but once they are completed (or at least almost-completed), he loses interest.  Not that there is anything wrong with that. We all have our own ways of enjoying our hobby.

In the other extreme, there are modelers who just build workbench, lay the track, then they happily run OPS on the plywood prairies (or partially scenicked layouts) without ever finishing them.

For me, building has always been more fun than operating.

In the meantime, I'm really wanting to see more of the big "Mill Creek" HOn30 layout. That seemed to have been supplanted by a much smaller version.

And some people enjoy posting on model train forums instead of doing any actual modeling.

It's a big tent.

Exactly.  Some others enjoy dissecting new models and posting product reviews, or helping others to repair their models, or other technical advice.  Like you said, a big tent.

Yes, that is part of "dissecting new models and posting product reviews".  :P
