FABULOUS!!  Excellent work on the crane! 

Watching the video, and the crane creeping along so smoothly with its lights on...I am struck between the eyes with the Kato Unitrack it's running on.

Superdetailed models that we've spent hours on getting 'em just right...then running 'em on toy track???

Sorry...really...but why????  I don't get it.

I often test new models on a Unitrack loop; given its reliability it takes the track out of the equation when testing new equipment.

This may shed some light on things…
My house is small and I simply don’t have room for a layout yet. My stepdaughter is moving out soon which will free up a room I intend to use for a quality layout. In the meantime in order to run or test anything all I have is a glorified test loop occupying my dining room table and Unitrack fills the bill nicely for that. Unfortunately it doesn’t make for very impressive video or photos. It gives proof that the model works at best.
I do have one 5’ Modutrak module here which is the only scenery and c55 track available to me right now. I intend to use for a photo session when I finish up the boom tender and crew car.
I also hope to get some much better photos and video when we set up the Modutrak layout in Madison next month.

There hasn’t been much modeling time this week to work on details for the tender flatcar but I did manage to finish a clam bucket. This came from a Langley Models demolition crane kit.

I’m going to weather the crew car and dig out my Difco dump car to round out the whole ensemble but the project is finished far enough to take to the Madison show next month.
Going to set up the module tomorrow and see if I can get some decent photos.
