Hey Ed- Have you seen Bob Gallup’s York Ntrak module with the PRR station and freight houses? You can just see a corner of the PRR office building. Bob runs with the Capital Pennscalers club.
I think the trickiest part of the iron work you'll have to do is the hoist (that girder assembly on the outside back face that used to hoist the coal up from where hoppers delivered it to refill the tower). The 1985 photo shows that it was still there. But since you don't have to worry about it operating, and pieces can even be missing from it, what with it being "no longer in service", maybe just some etched brass tower pieces could be fitted together to simulate it - something like Alkem or TrainCat's N scale yard towers - both of which are unfortunately long out of production. Does anybody make etched brass girders for bridges or towers these days?
I've got a couple buildings I need for York on my new NCR layout to really make it "YORK".The first is the former PRR office across the street from the station (which is a whole other can of worms).Does anyone know of any kits that are close? It's nice and plain and feels easy to scratch except for the damned mansard roof. I'm not worried about being spot on, just something evocative of the real thing. (Attachment Link) The second is the concrete coaling tower. I thought about the Walthers one but it's about 50% too large for the application. Is there anything else out there that might be similar? (Attachment Link) I'm working on building my Christmas list, so any help would be appreciated.

@Point353 can I ask how you accessed that photo? I haven't been able to open the gallery on my website since a Windows update about 5 years ago. If you're running an old version of Explorer, I might want to contract you to copy a bunch of links for me so I can restore some of my older photos that have been locked up... like that one.Lee
Damn. I miss those pictures! Most of that old stuff go zapped in a crash over 10 years ago. The original prints might be extant somewhere, but I suspect they are in a house that is no longer my jurisdiction... To paraphrase..., Hey Ed, gotta minute?
