Just as an update, I received an email from the BLI rep yesterday afternoon.  He said the J1 and C&O 2-10-4 is in the drawing and design phase, and the I1 is also in the design phase.  They should be released in 2023 or 2024.

For PRR steam, the H10 will be first.  Will be released in 2023.

Yay!!! 2023/24 will be an expensive time, if the schedule holds.

If we're going to have three different versions of the Big Boy, I want someone to do a top-of-the-line Berkshire.  The LL unit from the early 2000's runs great but can't pull anything without some traction mods and don't have the Mars light that was on all the NKP Berks after 1950; the Bachmann version pulls great but has a 50% failure rate in terms of running quality.  Even the ones that run well don't run THAT well . . .

But, I'm definitely in for a couple of C&O T1's since it is the Berk's "parent."   And maybe a couple of the Y's.  Don't know exactly what I'll do with them, but I'm a sucker for big steam.  I can always pretend the NKP leased a couple to help haul coal out of SE Ohio . . .

Dear BLI,

Just a polite reminder from those of us who are getting older every day....The big boy was not the ONLY steam locomotive that operated west of Chicago.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.

Tom D.

Yes dear BLI, you have some very nice western prototypes in your HO line. You've done all the research, and design work. How about scaling some of them down to N? May I dream about some 3800's?

They are finally doing the Reading T1!  I think I just fainted.  Pestering Ken at train shows may have paid off.  I'm in for about 6.

I've had luck in using Kato Part #934016 Union Pacific FEF Glass Set for a mars light. The lens in the parts bag is red, but I used Micro Krystal Klear for a lens and a micro-LED for a mars light on one of my LL berks.

If BLI makes a berk as good as their mikes, I'd sell my entire fleet of LLs and Bachmanns and convert to them. I'm hoping the PRR J1 is still in the works and if the designers are reading this, can it pretty please take 12 1/2" curves?  :D

Sounds nifty.   Got any pictures (at least of the finished product)?

I'd take a T1 in Conrail, but they didn't include Conrail in the latest HO run so... not sure if its on the radar.

I'll probably need an H10, just because.

And an H10, in HO scale too, when they eventually get around to releasing it.
I'll hold off for the Kato Big Boy, which might come out in 2022, too.

What an expensive year this will be.

This is what happens when you decide to make your own Reading T1. I only knew it was a matter of time. I'm still in for three.

I would love to see them do a Pennsylvania S1. Big steam sells big.

A pacific in CBQ would be great!

I would love a good midwest Hudson for passenger service.

Since apparently big steam is what sells, maybe one day a Virginian 2-6-6-6 is a possibility. I may be in for a Y6B, but some more H2A’s would be nice though!
