Who knew N scalers were such size queens...

I guess size sells, especially when you ask guys.  Double "D" baby!  I would post a photo of some "big boys", but it might not be family friendly.  :D

Did he happen to say what roads would be offered in the next run of Pacifics?  I have several Kato Mikados in CNW, but no Pacifics.  That would be a welcome addition to my fleet.

Scott

I would look to the Mikado road names for a good guide. They are clearly selling those and I would expect it to carry over to the Pacific.

Don't worry, I'll summon them the second I open up Fusion to make my own.

I was hoping for the Pennsylvania J1/C&O T-1 Texas 2-10-4’s.

What years and where did the Reading T1 run on the PRR?

You know, the joke about Victor and the Atlantic has a real vein of truth to it.  Once again, NO small
N Scale steam.   That means no switchers and no Atlantics.  I sympathize that large engines are easier to build - more room for lights, sound, motor, weight, track pickup - just everything.  And they sure are glamorous.  But switchers, especially, are a glaring hole that cuts across every road on every type of steam era layout.  No steam era railroads ever got by without switchers.

I have ZERO need for a Reading T1, but if they do it in the American Freedom Train, which I think they did in HO, I'll get one to have with the rest of the train.

Great to see that they will be doing the H10s! Gives me time to save up for a few and hopefully have a layout to run them on by then. The Reading T sounds intriguing too. I may have to pop for one of them just because. But smaller steam is still a challenge. Atlantics would be cool and I would be all in for some 0-4-0s or 0-6-0s. Hurry up Technology! Get with the program ;)

Me too. The last time Mike talked to BLI it seemed those were likely to be the next PRR project.  I hope they are soon on the list.  Truthfully, the H class is probably more needed along with the I class Hippo.  But my C&O side wants the T-1 Texas and therefore the PRR J1/J1a as well.

I have a bunch of Bachmann Spectrum 2-8-0's (pre-sound) waiting for H8 or H9 shells so maybe BLI can free those up.  Hopefully they construct them such that a H8 or H9 superstructure/boiler can be put over the H10 mechanism since the main difference between classes were outward details and cylinder sizes.

The Bachmann's are about as close as you can get with the driver sizes and spacing, though the spacing is regular (about 71.5 inches) rather than the H class's irregular between pairs of drivers. It's only an N-Scale inch so not that noticeable.  The Bachmann mechanism is just a little too tall/bulky for the PRR H class, even though they were fairly bulky and among the larger Consolidations.

Just as an update, I received an email from the BLI rep yesterday afternoon.  He said the J1 and C&O 2-10-4 is in the drawing and design phase, and the I1 is also in the design phase.  They should be released in 2023 or 2024.

For PRR steam, the H10 will be first.  Will be released in 2023.

Dear BLI,

Just a polite reminder from those of us who are getting older every day....The big boy was not the ONLY steam locomotive that operated west of Chicago.

Thank you for your time and attention to this matter.
