Micro-Trains November 2021 Releases

The announcement for the Micro-Trains November 2021 releases is out.  Here is the link to the Micro-News.  http://www.micro-trains.com/publicfiles/monthly/MN2111.pdf

It looks like the Humvee in the sheriff paint scheme is now available, and I will likely be in for the ADMX 4-pack of the 4650 ACF Centerflow covered hoppers.

No new passenger car this month (grumble).  Or much of anything for a mid-1950s modeler, other than if you happen to need a tank car painted for a sugar company.

That said, have to give @MTLJoe & Co. credit for following through on the re-think of the GM&O passenger set.  Sure enough, the 10-1-2 Parlor is out, and has been replaced by a green observation numbered to represent a business car #3. Definitely a good looking train.

@MTLJoe @MTL_Brandon - I'd be down for a two pack of those SafeBoats from the USCG train as detail accessories . . . .

Another '50s modeler here...I've been able to save so much money that normally would be spent on trains lately that I'm beginning to think about retirement.

Do I need another big wheel Conrail 50' box?

No.

Am I going to be getting another big wheel Conrail 50' box?

Yup.

But I sure wouldn't complain about some cars in the later scheme like this too:

I dunno.  I think if I had known that as soon as I retired, manufacturers and importers would stop making cars and locos for my layout, I would have kept working, as it is getting pretty boring, trainwise.  My Christmas wish list is getting very short.  Luckily, I already have "too many" by any rational standard.

If we don't see it pretty soon, I'm just gonna make my own. Which should result in MTL, BLI and some other company all releasing combines within a few weeks of my decals drying.

Sigh...in the same boat here.

There are enough of us out there that, if I thought there was any chance at all of recovering the tooling from the Asian factories, I would suggest that we just pool resources and make a deal with Intermountain for their N scale line.

@MTLJoe @MTL_Brandon , can you provide more information about the Z-Scale UP tie cars?   Specifically, are they weathered?   I believe the N version of these cars were weathered, and the artwork seems to indicate that, but there is no mention of it one way or the other that I can see anywhere.   Also curious if it will have the laser-cut floor/rail like the N set.

I'm on the fence with this set.  I model BNSF with UP trackage rights but a UP MOW train like this would rarely visit.   These cars did appear in manifest freights from time to time though, (as groups and also singles) so that would be the justification.  Probably would do 1-3 cars with the full loads and sell off the other cars along with the loader.   Lots of money and hassle just for a single fringe car, but such is Z-scale.

I would buy a BNSF set though, if they are a possibility.

@MTLJoe  @MTL_Brandon , are all the military valor cars coming out in one month, or will they be a 1 a month series. If the former, my wallet may need wound care.

This gives my wallet a break for a month and I can focus on buying other things. I am enjoying the C&NW heavyweights.
