Boomer Diorama - YouTube channel

I have been loosely following this YouTube channel for awhile, and although he can get excessively long-winded in his narrative, now that his layout has progressed to the scenery stage, his scenery work is nothing short of fantastic. He is truly an artist.

I agree, I'm a follower and he linked my new YOU TUBE videos to his channel which was kind. He has a background in film, video production in this realm.

Yeah, I started watching his videos a few weeks ago.  His use of colors and textures result in some of the most realistic scenery I've seen to date.  He's certainly good at what he does, whatever he does!

His use of Tamiya paint and how much he thins it down is interesting.  It'd be advantageous to be able to cross reference some of the colors he uses to craft paints.  But I don't see much in the way of substitutes for the artists gels and other products.  Like a lot of other YouTubers, he makes it look easy.  Experience trying out techniques from guys like him, shows it's not that easy.

I like the comparisons of the prototype and the compressed version on his layout!
Sometimes my reaction is only  :o

I do like his vids (and his choice of prototype!) tho I do play them at 1.5x-2x speed.

I have always been impressed by his work.  His narration is fine to me.  Some really useful stuff.  Oh, it's free and you can actually improve your modelling.  Thank you Boomer.

He wears a bag on his head, no IRL name. He replies to comments, hit him up. I know you are both in Van.

Except when he doesn't like a comment you've made and deletes it rather than responding...  I'd prefer my comment stands and get the appropriate tongue lashing for it, with further verbal thrashing by all the sycophants, than to have it deleted, but that's me!

Funny thing is...  I wasn't taking any issue with his skill level/experience, techniques or presentation, all are top notch in my book.  I was commenting on a critical comment he was making about a particular generational group.

Anyway...  For whatever reason, you can't PM the guy.  If he doesn't respond to your comment (or deletes it), you are SOL.

It is a bit amusing how he can go on and on about how much he doesn't care about criticism but will then spend 5-10 minutes going on about how a comment on a odd choice he made is some kind of sign of disrespect towards his entire generation. Still watch him for the modelling but I do of course zone out on his diatribes.

Exactly!  That's what I commented about and he deleted it, I have no time for generational victimhood, (Edit:) and his argument is really a bit of a stretch.  I don't see the connection!

I can't wait for the next video to see if he anonymously singles my comment out and complains about it.  What will be worse is when all the sycophants pile on in the comment section.  They tend to drive me a little batty...  Luke Towan's followers do the same damn thing.

But I agree...  I'm still subscribed to his channel and will continue to follow his progress.  He's super talented and his presentation is really good.  I watch for his techniques and his advice on materials, but mostly tune out the rest of his jibber jabber.
