BLI n scale 2-8-2

Has anyone notice the crazy increase in price on the re-issue of the BLI n scale 2-8-2. Holy crap ! I got my first three for $239 and $218. Now the re-issue is out for $295.  What are they on drugs !   Is it me over reacting or are the prices going through the roof. Some are just not worth it to me and it's where I draw the line.
I do understand that everything has gone up over night but that is more then gone up, it has become a rape of our wallets even though it is our choice to purchase somethings or not.

$56 bucks in a year !   That's a bit much.

As noted in another thread around here, a 40' container has gone from $4500 shipping cost to $45,000 in less than a year.  A 10x increase.  Figure out how that affects costs of items imported from China.  You can fit a lot of N Scale product in a 40' so maybe BLI uses a 20' but I'm sure the costs for those has gone up about the same.

But it's not BLI that raised the prices.  I just look on the BLI site  The previous run of Paragon 3 Mikes was MSRP $359.99.  The new run of Paragon 4 Mikes are MSRP $369.99 an increase of $10.  Pretty reasonable considering the improvement in decoder and the other price increases over the time.

Also, where did you buy the first ones and are you looking at the same source for the latest?

That's incredible, $4500 to $45000 in a year. Who's get the big you know where. No i don't blame BLI and the rest. It's about all the crap going on right now in the world. It's a mess.

Try living in Australia, an N Scale BLI Mike cost me just under $600.00 and so  far it has been mostly a shelf queen.

I may have been off.  I found the thread here (Re: Global Container Rates going crazy high) and it mentions $20k for a 40' with the next post mentioning $40k but not as a container shipping cost.  I also may have read the $40k figure in an online article somewhere else.

The costs for shipping a container from China are up 400 to 500% in the last year. And the whole system is backed up; it takes months to get a container landed in NA.

One of the article I was reading yesterday mentioned the Port of Los Angeles hitting a record number of ships at anchorage waiting for port access.  I can't find the one again (I followed a link to a link to a link to get to it. It was a shipping industry page) But here is something similar from Business Week

https://www.businessinsider.com/shipping-delays-china-supply-chain-record-ships-stuck-california-ports-2021-8?op=1

Last week on the 14th there were 56 ships waiting for access to the ports at LA and Long Beach.  Average wait time was 8.5 days.
