I heard about this a little while back, but no details on it. Found a video today:
/>
It is a DLP printer so even though it has 80 micron resolution it can focus the light with no bleed so it looks better than 35 microns. It has a projector instead of a LCD screen. The projector is said to last 20,000 hours. So this is like a cheap small Form Labs printer.

Supposed to be $499

I was hoping it would have a bit larger build plate, this looks comparable in size to the original photon. A mono X Sized plate would be nice but I imagine that's probably in round 2.

The detail seems very promising, especially for N scale applications. Even at 80 microns for the resolution the more controlled light does edge out even the best of the LCD variety.

Pricewise, I'd be hard pressed to go for this over a mono X based on the size aspect alone, if we were talking 399 then I'd personally be weighing a decision between the two pretty heavily, and perhaps retiring the Photon S to swap one of these into the stable for small bits and pieces.

The size if fine for me especially since the larger a machine gets the less resolution it has. I have no idea how these DLP projectors work, but from what I've seen the reflector is 80 microns. So the larger the item is you print the less resolution it has. When you print smaller it focuses smaller and gives better detail.

I have no input on comparisons really. I'd need them all in hand to know for sure. But yeah this is only round one and it is a test pre-production model to boot.
