Saw this because I’m a maniac and can’t not google stuff - any one have any leads on which bachmann model this is? I can’t zoom in close enough. I think it would be a close representation of DRGW #3300 2-6-6-2

Welcome to the forum!
Bachmann only made one model of the 2-6-6-2 loco in N scale (sold with 2 different tenders).  It has been reviewed by Spookshow: http://spookshow.net/loco/bach2662.html

I'm not sure what road names it was decorated for.  If you are asking about the "custom" part of that eBay listing, I don't know if that means that the model was custom painted. Nothing in the listing's description mentions any custom painting. Only the listing's title has the word "custom" in it.

Since that has a Rapido coupler, I think that is from the first run, which I would stay far away from, unless you can test it in person.

Yes, the USRA version is the first, also known as the C&O H-5 class 2-6-6-2 on which the USRA was based.  It's an okay runner but only so-so on pulling power.  The motor may also be somewhat iffy.  The better version is the later release (but of an earlier C&O class H-4 2.6.6.2).  They're better performers overall.  They came DCC equipped with knuckle couplers, Vanderbuilt (tank) tenders and only in C&O paint except for one that was painted but unlettered..

I think the "custom" part is that it was decaled by the owner from the unlettered version, because the photo of the jewel case says it is unlettered.

As is its not a representation of anything D&RGW ever owned.
There's a shell on Shapeways to convert these to a D&SL 2-6-6-0 IMHO one of the coolest engines ever...

Well this changes everything! Looks like I’ll be looking for a new project.

I just had a hard time blowing up the photo on my phone to see it was an Un decorated model. Time for better glasses for these aging 38 year old eyes?? 😜

Maybe time for a better cell phone?  I read the (blurry) jewel case label using a computer screen, with eyes twice the age of yours and glasses that needed changing (but weren't) since mid-COVID.  So, probably the device screen, rather than your eyes.   :D

I know, it’s time to get rid of the IPhone SE and get a 12 or 20 or what ever looks like a small tablet these days

Amen, brother! A Pocket Mallet, very modelable… He’s got some nice, otherwise unavailable cars, too.

Another example of why I don't buy 1st run editions of ANYTHING.  Let 'em work out the bugs with the 1st run and I'll take a look.  Maybe the 2nd run is dog also!  I was burned GOOD on Life-Like/Walthers 0-8-0's.  1st run couldn't hardly pull ANYTHING, but the 2nd edition was a GOODIE!! And now commands a PREMIUM price.

This is before I learned to check out SPOOKSHOW on any engine to be purchased.  http://www.spookshow.net/    Support this guy, send him a couple bucks to help out.

I'd be really happy to get my hands on some dead 1st-run LL 0-8-0's.  They had nice drivers, cabs and valve gear parts.  I know I'm in the minority here because I'm a "steam nerd".
