The product numbers seem odd.10s digit must signify road name, and last digit is road number, but all of the numbers end in 0, 1, 5, 7, and 9Most of the 3 and 4 number roads are 0,1,5,7.. but oddly enough Conrail numbers are 0,1,7,9 maybe that's due to the 2 paint schemes but CSX and NW has 2 schemes and product numbers 0,1,5 and 0,1,5,7..So curious if Conrail #s are a typo.
Yes, there is a method to my madness. The first two digits are the body style. The second two are the run number and the last digit is the road number. I avoid using 2, 3 and 6 for the last digit because we used those for 2-packs, 3-packs and 6-packs respectively leaving the others for singles. By the way, the latest wood chip hoppers which leave the factory tomorrow will be the last batch we do with 2-packs, 3-pacs and so on - it's all singles in multiple numbers after that group. The gap in the Conrail numbers was due to their being 2 pairs of lettering variations that warranted a slightly different description but not a new run number.CraigBluford Shops LLC
Not sure if I called attention to this before.. But in the Obscure Paint Scheme Department.. Here is an IC car with 2 different paint schemes (on the same car... at the same time)..
