Oh hell yeah.

Love those big wheels!

Don't forget the "normals" though. They were far more common, after all.

Oh good, all I had to do was buy some old stock and a gallon of 91% IPA in preparation of painting some myself. I wonder what other runs I can provoke by threatening some other models...

Cool, I'm in for the CRs and maybe a PC..

The 4 door has been done in Conrail Standard logo (3#s) and Standard Quality (2#s).

Though I'm sure more #s would be welcomed..

Any plans to expand in the 8 door schemes?..

Conrail standard still needs to be done there!..

With these models using FVM wheels, I wonder if there is some hope FVM will restock all of their wheelsets available to general public?  How many years has it been since the full range of FVM wheelsets has  been in stock?

I am in for the four Conrail cars, two NW and two PC cars in this release.  Maybe two DTI and most likely a few more CR to renumber since this was a prominent scheme in the 1970's into the mid 80's.  Conrail's Meadville Car Shop (MDV) cranked out these short large logo cars from roughly 9/76 to definitely 12/77 and possibly 1/78.  These will help fill out trains PICA, CAPI, PILM, LMPI, PIES, PIED, ESPI and PIBY.  All Conrail trains that carried auto parts to and from the east coast that traveled along either the Pittsburgh Line or Conemaugh Line.  All that is left to decide is which trains and line to model.  For now, I will acquire rolling stock for that future layout project.  Thanks Craig.

Really wish I'd have a reason for a few of these around.

The product numbers seem odd.
10s digit must signify road name, and last digit is road number, but all of the numbers end in 0, 1, 5, 7, and 9
Most of the 3 and 4 number roads are 0,1,5,7..

but oddly enough Conrail numbers are 0,1,7,9  maybe that's due to the 2 paint schemes but CSX and NW has 2 schemes and product numbers 0,1,5 and 0,1,5,7..

So curious if Conrail #s are a typo.

Glad to see these back in action!

I have a bunch from the earlier runs. I don't have any "on line" service points (on my imagined "Pokey" layout) for these, but I saw tons of them on "through" trains.

Yes, there is a method to my madness. The first two digits are the body style. The second two are the run number and the last digit is the road number. I avoid using 2, 3 and 6 for the last digit because we used those for 2-packs, 3-packs and 6-packs respectively leaving the others for singles. By the way, the latest wood chip hoppers which leave the factory tomorrow will be the last batch we do with 2-packs, 3-pacs and so on - it's all singles in multiple numbers after that group. The gap in the Conrail numbers was due to their being 2 pairs of lettering variations that warranted a slightly different description but not a new run number.

Not sure if I called attention to this before..

But in the Obscure Paint Scheme Department..
Here is an IC car with 2 different paint schemes (on the same car... at the same time)..

Also.. the Conrail Historical Society has a great collection of ideas of paint schemes..
For Example...

Wrong prototype, that's a Greenville car. Should Bluford decide to make some Greenvilles, only my wallet would shed any tears... (Greenville did make more 86-ers than either P-S or Thrall...)
