Oooh…I’m off work on the 7th and it will be just down the road.  I don’t want to get caught up in the parade of craziness screaming up and down highway 85, so maybe trackside at the Wyoming Welcome Center rest stop parking lot on I-25 or the little yard at Carr CO.

I think we'll head over to Deer Trail in the afternoon on the 6th. I'm not sure what time we want to get to Deer Trail since she is supposed to be in Denver at 7pm ?

I'm rather skeptical of the 7pm time into Denver.  Considering they are planning to leave Strasburg at 4:15, I'd expect them into Denver an hour (?) or so later.  I would plan to get to Deer Trail sometime before their 2:45 expected arrival.  Also, they have real-time tracking of the train (link below).  So on Sunday morning, you can see what kind of progress they are making and whether they are on schedule, then judge your departure from Denver accordingly.  The real-time tracking has certainly made the chase easier, although has also removed a certain level of the unknown that can be exciting, but you know right where they are, so you also don't miss them...

My daughter and i watched her stop at Strasburg, CO on Sunday. As said above, the population probably more then doubled of Strasburg. Probably the biggest thing (not a pun) that has happen to that town ever.  Got a nice video of her passing me going up hill. As the old timers say she shook the ground. Well they were correct, the ground really did shake. After she passed by i got a huge adrenaline rush.     By chance while on our way back to Denver we caught up and i got a decent pacing shot while doing 45mph.     I seen a big boy alive and moving, I can die a happy man.
