Would the Bachmann roof fix the MTL car for the BN/NP/CBQ and CNW versions? And does the MTL match a prototype as it is?
The Northeastern caboose, USRA twin hopper, and the two 8k gallon tank cars are top notch. The outside post trailer on the TOFC is decent also even though the flatcar is horrible. So they do make some rolling stock gems here and there, but definitely its not a given. And they always get dumped to market at some point, which is the best time to pick up the decent models. They must be making money in the overseas markets because they continue to follow this business method.
Your link does not point to the JPG. I went to the link from you then rigth-clicked and selected "View Image", then got the direct link to the photo.
The Bachmann NE caboose (or at least the ones I have) came with 36" instead of 33" wheelsets, but I agree 100% that they are nice models.
The best option for CNW (built by Maxson) is to start with the Bachmann plug door car and scratchbuild new Superior sliding doors, etc.
But what roof? And to resolve the MTL roof issue, would the ExactRail X panel roof fit the bill as a replacement?
