Dirt-cheap spray booth

If anyone is in the market for a cheap spray booth, I just ordered one of these. I figure for the price, it's worth taking a chance on...

Brian Banna used this (or something very similar) and recommended it to me and I bought it. I like it and it works. I cut a slit for the exhaust vent in foam-core board which is as wide as my open window by about 5" high. That keeps the outside air from coming in when I have the window open -- or one could just stuff the cracks with towels.

I believe can buy two of these and put them side-by-side for bigger jobs if that is what you need.

Curious how that pic shows the blower exhaust pointing back at the user.

It does sound kind of chancy:

"If you can not get the item within 30-40 days, please feel free to contact us, we will resend or refund the money to you."

Tho it's not like it has to come from China:

"Item location: Walnut Creek, California, United States"

Look it up on Amazon..or Wish or Alibaba... The Seller who lives in California likely hits 'buy' on wish and has the item shipped from China to your address..

I ran into that the other day on Ebay.. ended up with an Amazon item.

These are available from a number of brand names at a number of different price points... All from the same manufacturer.

I bought mine locally at KMS tools and I think I paid way more then that. Good price.

I'm very happy with mine btw... might not be great for high VOC paints but for what we do it seems to work fine.

The one I own was Paasche branded. $149 but that was from a HobbyTown because I'm impatient.

I ran into that the other day on Ebay.. ended up with an Amazon item.

I started seeing similar schemes on eBay last year - US "seller", but shipment from China. Some was pretty bald-faced.

One seller was particularly clumsy doing this, and I got a free Logitech USB camera out of it during the Zoom demand peak. Having been burned by fraudulent "shipping delays" extending past the refund window, I was watching shipping progress like a hawk. It took several days to "ship", and then the China origin became apparent in the transit information.

After two weeks hung-up in customs, I asked for a refund... and got it immediately. My guess is they didn't want trouble from eBay due to a buyer reporting the origin fraud. A week later the camera showed-up anyway. I let it ride since "repairing" the transaction was way too much trouble. In my pea brain it served the seller right; I would not have bought had I known it was actually a Chinese seller spoofing a US origin.

eBay needs to crack down on this, but we all know how (un)responsive their customer service is.

It does seem pretty bald-faced then, since as-written it says the item (not the seller) location is in CA and (presumably) should not have to (again) go thru customs or other such delays. However a 30-40 day delivery window for a domestic shipment (and no tracking, even) is pretty lame, even for the USPS.

I have something similar.

I made a shelf for it with a monitor arm. It works "ok".

There was a video (and I can't find it now) of a small business who always sold direct to customer via his website, and found his product on Amazon...

He ordered one from Amazon, and then got the order through his website from the re-seller, and saw what was going on.

So he adjusted his website price by X2 and ordered 10 more items from the Amazon seller... (Forcing the Amazon guy to buy 10 items for 2x the price (while only getting paid the old price).. At this point, the Amazon seller figured out the items were purchased by the mfg.. but had to fullfil the order to keep his standing with Amazon, and lost a crap ton of money.

(Wish I could find the video now)

Anyone else buy this on ebay?
Too good to be true but I gambled anyway.
I just got this message from ebay:

"We're writing to let you know that we've removed an item you recently won:
313546784629 - Portable Hobby Airbrush Paint Spray Booth Kit Exhaust Filter Extractor Set Model"

Also, when I look at the seller, it says "jume-2393 No longer a registered user". Based in Switzerland.
