That is stunning. And you had to go and include a Silverliner IV in the last shot! Those are largely responsible for my love of all things on rails. Your module really captures some happy memories, thanks very much for sharing your work!-Steven
So it won, right?
Used cut-down grade crossing inserts to build the platform-access-extensions for tracks 2 and 3.This was a required element from the build kit, as a Blair-Line Wood Grade Crossing. (Attachment Link) Cut a walthers bungalow house in half for the first of the homes in the neighborhood. (Attachment Link) (Attachment Link) Started greening the scene (Attachment Link) Every tree used in scene was carefully flocked with three colors of ground foam, to give them a little more depth and variance. The 1960's traffic lights were a required element from the build kit, but the street lamps were more ebay finds. (Attachment Link) (Attachment Link) (Attachment Link) The corner building represents the very edge of Baldwin Locomotive Works, which was amassively sprawling facility just to the south of Chester Pike in this area. Some of you may recognize the kit used as an old AHM factory from the 1970's. (Attachment Link)
Thanks! It helped keep me sane in a strange year, lol.
I just glad that I had the opportunity to see the progress you made from cardboard. I hope that another module contest arises this year so I can see what’s next.Years ago there was a triangular NEC layout that floated between stops on the corridor. An Acela might blast past a silverliner using a flying junction …
We do have a second contest module that got started and was put on hold due to complications, but at some point it will get pulled back out and finished. It's actually a really cool scene, where the corridor passes beneath the B&O/CSX main at 58th street in Philly.--Drew
