Damn that looks good.@hegstad1 Andrew, I'm noticing you've swapped out the trucks. I'm guessing that in the era you're modeling that the prototype was similarly redressed?
I think the rule used to be that cars had to be reweighed after shopping and at least once every 6 years. Prototype photos indicate this rule was not vigorously enforced.
The paint shop decided it needed to be that way. It's actually a bit of a story but the prototypes had various other patches and they look cool.
Ah, must be a earlier era thing. Reweighs/shopping that I'm used to don't normally touch that data. Thanks!
That car looks great (including the faded red wine color). Was that factory painted model or did you paint and decal it?
No. I painted and decaled it. I used Scalecoat N&W Red cut with Daylight Red and some reefer white. I then sprayed very dilute True Color Sand to fade it a bit more. It's lettered with Cloverhouse dry transfers transferred to decal paper and then applied in the usual way. Weathered further with india ink and Pan Pastels.
It ended with the consolidated stencils.Jason
Anyone ever actually had some of this wine?
