Railfanned the NWP as a kid when I visited my Grandparents in Petaluma.  Went back for years when in rolled in the CFNR.  It is my choice for my "one day" model railroad.

This thread just keeps getting better.  My glimpses of the NWP were few during my childhood but it also holds a special place for me.

I grew up across the street from NWP's Tiburon branch, and my elementary school's playground was adjacent to the tracks.  In one of my first day's of kindergarten, I heard the local coming and bolted out of class, to the fence by the tracks, to watch it go by.  That did not go over well with the powers that be.  :P  I would do it all over again though.

I too would love to see John's layout in person some day!

So there is validity to this book.  All I Really Need to Know I Learned in Kindergarten by Robert Fulghum

Tiburon branch?  The Hyundai Tiburon commercials few years back taught me that Tiburon meant "shark" in another language.  I had no idea that this name was used in North America.

Yes, Spanish.  Mexico is in North America.  San Jose Sharks as the Los Tibolones.  San Jose, Los Angeles, San Diego, etc. all named by the Spanish.  It pretty common in the US Southwest.

Tiburon is also located by the red triangle.  An area known for it's great white shark population.
