I have not posted in the weekend update in over 5 years but I am starting to get back into doing work so lets start to build a lumber yard.

Nothing is set, might not use all the building, just started to weather the roofs. None of the walls are glued to the concrete bases non of the roofs are glued to the walls. Will have to add lots of wood inside and outside the building.

Been working on the N scale Colorado Midland 2.0.  As you can see, I'm not really one for building sequentially.

Me neither. I haven't finished wiring everything yet, and I've got some portions of the layout fully sceniced.

I haven't done any physical modeling in a long time, but recently I've been getting into 3D modeling.  First up is this NYC flat.  I did a test print yesterday and I'll need to coarsen the wooden boards so I can see them.  There's a few more little details to do but it's about 90% complete.

And I drew this RDG/PRR gon the other night.  I still have no idea how I'm going to draw the Dreadnaught ends though!   :scared: :scared:  Since it has drop ends I might cheat and use Micro Trains parts instead.

I'd go with the MT ends.  I doubt that you could print a piece as thin, and detailed on both sides, without it getting too fragile to use.  In fact, design the body right, you might be able to print it so that the ends would be moveable, just like the MT cars.

Construction of the Bergen Laser station kit stalled after starting on the roof build and discovering the two roof shingle sections were not included. An email to them was answered within minutes and parts were promised.  The kit has been discontinued so I suspect they had to pull the old files to produce the parts.  The build seems to be going pretty well.  Some of the parts are quite delicate; the eaves over the station lobby were a single piece that cracked apart after painting, but I was able to cement the pieces and press it with books to restore it.  Then Thursday I got laid up after getting my second Covid vaccine.  The side effects were like "mild" flu systems.  They seem to have passed and hopefully I can get back to the layout over the weekend.

Little bit of being an  :ashat: here. Paint seems a little blotchy on the green areas, are those receiving additional coats further along?

I agree with you, but the spot lighting probably doesn't help.  I plan to touch it up after it's complete.   I'll also add an ink/alcohol wash, particularly on the concrete, and use chalks to add weathering.  I want to give it an aged look.

First successful test print (the little grey cube in front).   I guess there is no turning back now....  :D

WM FA2 302, RS2s 182, and 184 are ready for the paint booth! They'll get a bath this afternoon and then set aside until we get a warmer day with low humidity - probably next week. In the meantime, I need to install decoders in the RS2s. These units have helped to develop my skills, and have me thinking about stripping and redetailing my other RS2s and FA2 to the level of these units. Only one more RS2 and I'll have the entire WM roster!

Follow-up on the above post: except for figures, vehicles and few little details, the quarry is done.

I'll need to coarsen the wooden boards so I can see them.

Consider mixing media types: if you have access to a laser cutter, do the decking in laserboard or similar. I did that with my 35' Sea-Land flat racks.

Haven't done much modeling lately but I did have a chance to put together a N Scale Briggs Models GP20ECO. I love the little door handle in the third photo. Paint is next.
