It's so nice having something that actually works.

After Eric's visit last week I accelerated my plan to fix the most critical switch in the yard's wonky frog power with a frog juicer.
I wish solving every project were as easy. The switcher now glides effortlessly through the switch. Hurray.

And speaking of switches, I've installed my first "production" switch lock box.

I can't figure out a good way to show the dispatcher screen when I use it, but it works.

So @seusscaboose has learned that LPT well. He came over last night for Ops Session #1.
I can think of few folks more qualified for that honor.

Great write up on the ops session Ed.  It's a lot of fun to watch one's creation come to life in the hands of friends.
So, I'm not the only one picking era specific music for a session!  I had a couple of folks come over the week before Christmas.  Since the AC&Y Spur 4 era is early 1960's I chose Vince Guaraldi's soundtrack to "A Charlie Brown Christmas" 1965.   ;)

Thanks! It was really fun, and that's an excellent music pairing. I didn't realize it was so old!

I'm finally getting serious about the mill building in Dawson Springs.

This is using resin castings that @Chris333 made of the legendary Easton Mill kit.

I plan on modeling with overgrowth and boarded up windows, like this place back before my people descended on it.

Nice looking casting! Will there be a siding behind it?

Siding buried in overgrowth and no longer connected to the mainline?

That's the plan! Not even sure if I'll include the actual track because I don't want to waste the Code 40 flex but the idea is definitely to make it obvious where it would've been.

The sky is fantastic. Is it a photo backdrop?

It is, but what you're actually seeing is a combination of the weird angle it's at and some shadow.

You can see it a little better here.

So, hear me out - what if you left the mill building without a roof?

Oh, I have thought about that. But I don't think the interior walls will really support it.
