I am a genius!

Been working on a bunch of switch throws so that I can have a better JFRTM experience through the yard.
I printed off 12 K-Mounts, assembled the switches, etc...

But one thing was a challenge: getting precision when it comes to drilling the through-holes through the clevises that join the rods, switches and throw wires together.

So I designed and printed a jig!

Of course... because I apparently don't know how to measure, this was my third iteration. So maybe not a super genius.

You buy clevises without holes already in them?

Well, not exactly.

I'm using these.

They come with one hole and a post that snaps into that hole. I need to modify them so they have a full through hole by clipping off the post and drilling through the other hole to line it up with the new one.

A morning that included a double espresso, a Keith Rucker video and then a Kathy Milliat video resulted in a bunch of trouble.

This is why I love foam for a scenic base.  Plop down some foam, cut away what you don’t need, and “Bam!”  Instant landforms.  Smooth it over with lightweight spackling and then bring on the foliage.

And if you dig too deep, you can fill it back in quite easy. Some spackle or "ground goop" covers all sins.

I don't feel so bad that my scribed lines on my roads look like Zorro took a blade to them. Sand and back to normal.

Yep. I did that when adjusting the creek in the corner. Easy enough to fix tomorrow!

But this all reminded me why I prefer 1". It's just so much easier to carve.
