Maybe you need some dark gray lichen to brush up your scene a little...

I think you're right. Lichen does actually have a place here.

Nah. I'm afraid he'll come call my dog a ***** again. lol.

Seriously, him telling Damian, to his face "aww, you're just a big ***** aren't you" is one of my all time favorite memories.

I'm digging the layout. Attention to detail is top shelf. I only hope my new Z scale layout is as detailed but I doubt it.

Ed,

That looks really good.  But, what’s all that racket that’s not a turbo?  Are those engines speed-matched?  Is one pulling in reverse?  Otherwise, the layout’s coming along nicely.  Kudzos!

The things you miss in the viewfinder... but that's the challenge of running big time trains on a railroad built in the 1820s.

It's weird the things that the phone's microphone picks up. The engines aren't well speed matched though. I guess that's a project I should dive into at some point though.

Ha! Yeah, seriously. Again, one of those "it looked better in person" things. What's perplexing is the lack of MTL couplers in the whole train (there are maybe five cars with them).

You need to practice the fine art of "in camera" editing...  Let the train run several laps, shoot it from a few different angles with each pass, then stitch together the views to make a more interesting roll by... It also affords the opportunity to edit out bouncy cabooses, uncouplings, derailments, and other inconveniences.

I can't remember how many passes this took, and yes, I had to circumnavigate the entire layout through both staging yards several times to get the various shots.  But it's sort of my standard for making a roll by video.  Your musical accompaniment may vary.

Oh, I know. I actually did a ton of takes but didn't feel like spending the time to edit them together.
