Making progress on the lock boxes. This one protects an industry switch off of the controlled siding along side Windsor St yard. Since it's a controlled siding, the switch lock indication will prevent local hoodlums from messing with the switch and will insure that the dispatcher knows the switch is both lined and locked before they can clear something into the block.

Or guys like me! You probably remember way back when I accidentally threw a DCC-controlled switch under a long coal drag on @John 's M&O and split the train in two.

That's why manual switches and 4-car trains are more my speed...

In all seriousness, it's inexplicably been slow going on the layout. I don't know what's up with that, but I applied some new ground cover to the temporary loop.

Here the NC helper set of V&O 603 and a ratty GP9 are pictured by the former depot at... "Dawson's Springs" (the name I'm giving the spot, for now).

I actually try to keep the thing somewhat ready for impromptu ops at most times.

You just have to come by.
