Thanks, and yes, I agree 100%. I was just thinking about it, and I know I wasn't the first, but I was pioneering it back 15 years ago and I'm glad I did. There are a number of folks who do it even better than I do (Mike Confalone, and our own @bman ), but I definitely enjoy the way it sets my work apart.

I actually just saw two dead season photos in MR's Trackside Photos in the latest edition, so I'm thinking that might slowly be changing, but it's still far under represented.

And that is the highest compliment I can get!

I can't take any credit Ed I believe you are thinking of btrain and his "doughnut." I've gotten to see it at our clubs Ohio N Scale Weekend and it is simply awesome as is yours. I am strictly a summer scenery guy. Speaking of scenery I need a gazillion trees to hide some staging. What have ya got in the way of some free time? :D

Lol, too many Bs from Ohio up in here!

Summer trees? Fun fact, the bigger you make them, the fewer you have to make.

More fascia debating. I think I'm just gonna go get some Patio Stone and call it a day.

Also tried sprucing up the rails with a brown marker. I like it.

I went with "Patio Stone" since I think it looked the best in person.

It's not bad in photos either.

I also raided my box of trees and started planting.

The color on the fascia almost tricks the eye into believing there's a big muddy river there.

Which is exactly why I liked that choice.

Yeah its like painting the pink foam, its a big visible change that gives a nice dopamine hit to the brain on the level of progress being made.

Yep. Definitely. That's a really great observation and 100% accurate.

Ed,

Looking good.  Can I be super picky, though?  Where that road comes down the hill through that cut, can you raise the vertical curve at the bottom, so it’s a little smoother.  Think about how the civil engineers would have shoved some of the earth from that cut down the hill, to taper out the transition to flat.

Also, please don’t leave that ramp on the far side of the railroad crossing.  Not only does that look like a Dukes of Hazzard scene, but vehicles traveling at normal speeds would high center on that far rail.  Sorry, this is a pet peeve of mine.

Hope this helps,
Dave
